Traveling to Pakistan During the COVID-19 Pandemic

General health and safety measures

Prior to traveling to Pakistan, please ensure the following requirements:

  • Most airlines require RT-PCR test before traveling to Pakistan. All other countries require a test and may also be required to undergo a second RT-PCR test upon arrival in Pakistan. (Children less than 12 years of age, disabled passengers, and international delegations are exempt from the test).
  • Travelers from China, Saudi Arabia and Qatar may be exempt from the test.
  • Masks are recommended where it is difficult to maintain a 6″ distance from other people.
  • Maintain a safe distance from other people at all times.
  • Observe good hand and respiratory hygiene.

Call the emergency number only in genuine emergency situations. In an emergency situation, you will be treated even if you do not have a municipality of residence in Pakistan. The medical costs can be collected from you afterwards. The emergency number can be called free of charge from any phone. No area code is needed.

Returning home

Travelers are asked to closely monitor statements and guidance issued by their home countries’ public authorities, health officials and embassies, in order to receive timely information on matters such as quarantine instructions upon arrival at home.

Restaurants & cafés are open, but have restricted activities. Restaurants offer indoor seating and safe distances must be maintained. Outdoor seating is not restricted, but safe distances must be maintained. Customers are encouraged to maintain a safe distance from other people and observe good hand and respiratory hygiene. 

Sights and attractions are open, however please check their websites for up-to-date information on opening times and any specific safety considerations. There might be regional restrictions due to the epidemic and customer numbers can be restricted below normal levels. 

Accommodation and other services for travelers are open, however please check with your chosen service provider for the availability of their service and any specific safety considerations. 

Shopping centers are open. Some shopping areas can be crowded. Masks are highly recommended and precautions should be taken to keep yourself safe and healthy. Observe good hand and respiratory hygiene.
